Broader Horizons

One of the most important things with MLM recruiting is honesty about what can be earned and how much work is needed.  Far too often people are promised huge earnings for very little work and this is what gives MLM / network marketing a bad name.  MLM is not a get rich quick scheme, it is a legitimate business and as with all businesses requires work and dedication.  Potential customers and recruits to the business will not come knocking on your door begging to do business with you.  People have to be made aware that you exist first of all.  They have to be shown the products and opportunity of your business and how it can benefit them .

When you first start with an MLM business you will need to contact your sponsor as soon as possible, especially if you are new to MLM, to get ideas on how they market their products and how they recruit new associates in to their business.  Depending on which business you have joined there will be probably certain criteria to which you must adhere to qualify as an associate.  This may be to make a certain amount of product sales in a designated period of time or some require that you make a monthly purchase of their product to stay in the business.

After the initial qualification you have to start looking to build your business seriously.  The MLM business model requires that you sponsor new associates in to the business to build your business.  The business I am involved with could be run solely on product sales, however, even though this could earn me a fair income if I consistently managed to make sales every month it would be nothing like what I could potentially be earning by building a team and helping them to become qualified and make some sales and then to sponsor associates in to the business themselves and so on through the levels of the matrix.  This is the beauty of the MLM business model.  In conventional businesses there are only so many hours in a day, even if you have an automated system running 24 hours a day.  With MLM, instead of individuals doing a lot of work in a limited number of hours, there are a lot of people in the same team doing a little bit every day and as the team grows more work is getting done even though in reality the members of that team are still only doing the same amount of work and as you get more successful in the business you could potentially be working less and earning more and of course this applies to everyone in the business.  You don’t have to have any qualifications or be interviewed by your line manager to see if you qualify for a promotion or a raise and you don’t have to wait for old Joe to retire so there is the potential of a promotion.  If you work hard and follow the proven formula of the successful people in that business, there is no reason why you can’t have a successful business of your own.

I think most people who own a website or blog that revolves around the home business, internet marketing etc niche are always looking for new ways to add new income streams to their businesses.  As you have probably seen on this blog, I have a few banners from companies I am promoting, most of which I am using myself and I am also using adsense which I think most people who want to monetise (is their such a word?) their websites / blogs use.  The thing with adsense is that it rarely pays more than a few pence per click and you would probably have to have quite a large volume of visitors clicking through your website / blog to make any significant money.  Well this week a new program has been launched called ‘Click Bank Ad Rotator’.  This program allows you to place text adverts on your site, much the same as adsense to point to products on the Click Bank marketplace that you have specified through your own keywords.  Now, straight away I can see two benefits from this.  With adsense I regularly have adverts on my blog that are in direct competition with me and therefore could actually be taking business away from me so I could use keywords for products that I think my readers might be interested in but would also, hopefully, complement my business.   Also the amount of revenue that could be made from this far outweighs the pennies that adsense pays out per click. If you look at the sidebar on my blog you will see an example of the CB Adrotator adverts above the adsense, pretty effective I think.  You also get complete control of the shape and size of your adverts and colours, much like adsense.  I think this is going to be a very effective way of earning an extra income on your websites.   If you want to know more you can follow the link below or click on the banner at the side.

An MLM business should be treated the same as any other business.  Serious effort has to be taken and maintained to make any business work and it is no different for an MLM business.  This is where many people fail in their endeavours.  If you have a product to sell such as health products or as in my case broadband internet, customers will not come knocking on your door the instance you sign up for your opportunity begging you to let them buy from you, yet many people seem to expect this.  To get customers for your product you first need to let these potential customers know that you exist and then tell them about your product and this takes time and effort.  Also recruiting associates in to your business takes time and effort and must be taken seriously, you have to let prospective business partners know that you exist and what your opportunity is all about, this also takes time and effort.  MLM / Network Marketing has gained a bad reputation through misrepresentation of possible earnings and the amount of work needed.  I tell you now, Tiscali Network will not make you a millionaire in a week without having  to do a thing but it could give you a very comfortable income and allow you a lot more time at home with your family if you are willing to be serious about a very serious business.

Multi Level Marketing or Network Marketing is an industry that is either loved or hated in equal measures by many people.  Many people I speak to about the business I am involved with have ideas about MLM ranging from a friendly ‘no thanks, I’ve heard about these pyramid schemes before’ to quite heated exchanges of which I have no desire to get involved with but the ‘expert’ in them demands they tell me all about this scam and how they know a friend of a friend who got involved with what you’re doing and lost all their money.

If a person has no desire to get involved with what I am doing, that’s fine, I do not want to harass someone who does not want to get involved, and to be honest, if you did manage to eventually persuade someone who has no real desire to join you, they will probably do nothing anyway.  The problem is that many people do believe that MLM is pyramid marketing and no end of explaining will ever change their minds.    

It is such a shame that so many people deny themselves the opportunity that working in an MLM business can offer them.  If they were to take the time to discover the merits of MLM, I believe many of them could be making a very good living.

To me, compared to working for someone else, MLM is an incredibly fair system of earning a living.  If you are working for a company as an employee, take a moment or two to analyse your life and your method of earning a living.  You probably work between 8 to 12 hours in a job you probably don’t like.  There is a saying in network marketing circles, a bit of a cliché but mainly true; J.O.B. – Just Over Broke.  This is what the wages you are being paid by your employer are doing for you, keeping you just over broke, yet you work your butt off for your employer.  You give up your precious time away from your family in many cases at weekends or on holidays and you are being paid a wage that keeps you and your family fed and clothed with a roof over your head and maybe a two week holiday abroad once a year  but how much of that is left, not a lot – Just Over Broke.

If anything, the real pyramid is the conventional employment you are in.  The person at the top of the company earns huge amounts of money with perks and guaranteed pensions yet it is the people at the bottom of the pyramid who are working hard for the company but with no chance of getting to the level of the top person or of earning what they do.

This is why I believe that MLM is a much fairer system.  Everybody who joins an MLM business has the opportunity to not only match the earnings of the top earners in that business but surpass those earnings, it all depends on how much work is put in.  In an MLM business it is in the interests of your upline to make sure that you get your business moving and that you start earning as quickly as possible.  It is also in your interest to keep in touch with your upline to learn from them.  They should teach you how they sell their product and how they recruit their downline and also once they have recruited someone how they nurture this new recruit.

A good MLM company will organise training meetings for their associates, usually hosted by the top earners in that particular business.  They will tell you how they built their business and give you advice and tips on how to build yours.  As I said before, it is in the interests of your upine to see you are successful in your business but it is also in the interests of everybody in that particular business to make sure as many new recruits as possible are successful.  If other people see you are successful in your chosen business, they will be more inclined to join themselves.

These are just some of the reasons why I believe in the MLM business model as the future of marketing and the route to financial freedom for everyone.

Further to my last post I would like to add some more reasons why I think network marketing with Tiscali Network is not only right for me but possibly the best network marketing / MLM opportunity in the UK today.

As I said in my earlier post I have realised that flipping from one idea to the next and then the next is not doing me any favours so I have started focusing on just two businesses for the time being and build up slowly when they are both running more independently. 

I shall be focusing this blog on my Broader Horizons business and my Fair Price Ebooks business through it’s own dedicated blog, I will let you know when that is set up.

I have been taking a long look at what I have been doing over the past few months with my internet marketing and have realised (finally) that I have been spreading myself too thin so I have decided to get back to focussing on just a core business, well two actually. 

I am going to start focussing more of my time on Tiscali Network which I believe is one of the greatest opportunities in the UK today with many people earning six figure incomes from residual income.  I will start working on the strategies to make this my leading business.

I am also going to start getting to grips with another venture which I purchased last year but did nothing with and that is my ebook store www.fairpriceebooks.com which I believe could also be a nice little earner if I focus my attention on it.

I will start posting what I am doing to promote these businesses as an incentive to myself to keep up the work.
